Who is eligible for NDIS?

You should be eligible for NDIS support if: 

  • You are under the age of 65 years at the time of your application
  • You are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen who holds a Protected Special Category Visa
  • You have a permanent disability that significantly affects how you can communicate, move, care for yourself, or manage your life.
  • If early intervention would substantially improve your functioning, or delay or decrease a decline in functioning, for you or your child.

How to Engage Homage as an NDIS Participant

Step 1 – Have an obligation-free chat with a Care Advisor

Speak with one of our knowledgeable Care Advisors so we can understand your needs and requirements. Call our hotline 1300 705 029 or complete this form.

Ready to make a service booking? Call our Care Advisory team at 1300 705 029 or submit a booking request via the Homage App.

Step 2 – Be matched with a Care Professional that best suits your needs 

Once you’ve made your service booking, our team will match your care requirements with the most suited support worker or nurse. You’ll receive a confirmation via email or in the Homage App before your visit. You have the option to chat with our Care Pro via the Homage App!

Step 3 — Care and assistance are provided when and where you need

On the day of the visit, your Homage support worker or nurse will attend to your requested support at your place of residence – this can be at home, in a community centre or hospital.

After the visit, you will receive a post-visit summary report in the Homage App on the services provided.

Review NDIS Plan

Step 4 – Homage will submit the service invoice to the relevant parties

Depending on whether you’re self-managed, plan-managed, or NDIA-managed, Homage will manage the invoice with the appropriate parties.

If you are a self-managed NDIS participant, we will send the service invoice to you to manage the claims processing. If you work with a plan manager, we will send the invoice directly to your plan managers so that they will be able to process your NDIS claims. If you are NDIA-managed, we will submit the invoice directly to the NDIS portal.

Is Homage an NDIS provider?

Homage is a registered NDIS provider. We actively serve all NDIS participants. As an NDIS registered support provider, we are bound by the NDIS Code of Conduct when providing care and support to NDIS participants.

What can NDIS Funds be used for?

The NDIS funds a range of supports for participants, such as daily personal activities, transportation, workplace assistance, therapeutic supports, household tasks, aids/equipment assessment, home modifications, mobility equipment, and vehicle modifications. For a detailed list of supports, visit the NDIS website.

How can I apply for NDIS?

You may apply for NDIS funding if you satisfy the eligibility criteria. Please follow the instructions on the NDIS website to submit your application. 

Can I still access Homage’s services if I am not eligible for NDIS?

Yes. You can access disability support services through Homage and pay for the service privately. If you receive NDIS funding at a later stage, you can continue using Homage. Your NDIS funding will go towards payment for the services.

How can I engage Homage with my NDIS funding?

If you are self-managing your NDIS funds, you can arrange your care requirements directly with us using the Homage platform. After the service is complete, Homage will issue you an invoice for you to make payment and to submit your claim to the NDIS.

If you have a Plan Manager managing your NDIS funds, you can directly arrange care services with us, and we will submit the invoice directly to your NDIS Plan Manager.

Who hires a disability support worker?

Anyone who lives with a disability and needs assistance can hire a disability support worker. Whether you’re a child, an adolescent or an adult, you can engage a disability support worker to help you achieve your goals and objectives.

Is it expensive to hire a disability support worker?

The fees of hiring a disability support worker is quite reasonable. Usually, it can cost between $40-70/hour to hire a disability support worker. Of course, if you have NDIS funding, you can use it to cover these costs.

How do I switch from another service provider to Homage?

We advise reviewing the NDIS service agreement you have in place with your current provider to understand the notice you need to give the provider before you switch to Homage, or if you need to pay any cancellation costs.

Once you’ve confirmed those, contact our Care Advisory team so we can understand your needs and arrange your first service booking.
