What Are NDIS Cleaning Services?
NDIS cleaning services provide funded support that helps people with disabilities maintain a clean, safe, and healthy home. If cleaning is difficult or impossible because of your disability, the NDIS can fund a trained support worker to assist you, whether that is regularly or as a one-off.
At Homage, domestic assistance is part of a whole-person care plan. Your cleaning sits under under the same registered provider, with no referrals and no coordination gaps.
Home Cleaning as Disability Support (NDIS)
Funded under the Assistance with Daily Life in your Core Supports budget, when the support is reasonable and necessary for your disability.
- NDIS line item: 01_019_0120_1_1 (Household Tasks)
- Works with NDIA-managed, plan-managed, and self-managed plans
- Must be directly related to the impact of your disability on daily living
- Can be combined with personal care, nursing, and community access under one Homage plan
- Homage is a registered NDIS provider. NDIA-managed participants can access us directly without going through a marketplace.
Home Cleaning Help for Older Australians
Homage is also a registered aged care provider. If you have a Home Care Package or are transitioning to Support at Home, cleaning can be included in your funded supports.
- Home Care Package (HCP) funds domestic assistance to help you stay living at home longer
- Support at Home (from 1 July 2025) continues to fund cleaning as a core service
- Flexible scheduling: weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or one-off
- Coordinated alongside nursing and personal care by your Homage care manager

Is NDIS Cleaning Funded in Your Plan?
NDIS funding for home cleaning falls under Assistance with Daily Life in your Core Supports budget. The support must be reasonable and necessary given your disability.
Cleaning support is likely to be funded if:
- Your disability makes cleaning tasks difficult, unsafe, or impossible without assistance
- The support helps you live independently and maintain a safe home environment
- It is consistent with the goals in your current NDIS plan
- You cannot reasonably complete the task independently or through informal support
Cleaning is generally not funded if the participant can complete tasks independently or if a family member living in the home can reasonably assist.
For Support Coordinators: How to refer a NDIS participant to Homage
1. Make contact with our team: Drop us a call or use our referral form online. Let us know the participant’s name, primary support needs, location, and relevant NDIS plan details.
2. We confirm availability and suitability: Our team reviews the referral and confirms whether we can meet the participant’s needs — typically within 1–2 business days. We will be upfront if we are not the right fit.
3. We match the right support worker: We identify the most suitable Homage Care Pro for the participant based on their GDD profile, goals, location, and personality. You will be informed of the match.
4. Service agreement and commencement: We set up the service agreement in line with the participant’s NDIS plan. Support commences promptly, and you receive updates through your preferred communication channel.
5. Ongoing communication and reporting: You have access to session notes via the Homage platform. We flag any changes in participant needs or incidents promptly, and are available for case conferences when required.

NDIS Cleaning Services FAQs
Does the NDIS cover home cleaning services?
Yes, in most cases. The NDIS funds cleaning services when they are considered reasonable and necessary for a participant to manage their disability and maintain a safe home. Funding sits under Assistance with Daily Life in your Core Supports budget. Homage can help you confirm whether cleaning is included in your current plan.
Am I eligible for NDIS home cleaning through Homage?
If you have NDIS funding and cleaning has been identified as a support need in your plan, Homage can provide that service. We work with NDIA-managed, plan-managed, and self-managed participants. Contact us and we will check your eligibility and available funding with you at no cost.
How much does NDIS cleaning cost?
Homage charges in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. The standard weekday rate for household tasks is $60.41 per hour. Evening, weekend, and public holiday rates are higher. A typical 2-hour weekly visit costs approximately $120.82 per week from your Core Supports budget. We confirm all rates before support begins.
Can I choose how often a support worker cleans my home?
Yes. You decide the frequency and duration: weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or as a one-off. We work around your schedule and your preferences can be adjusted at any time as your needs change.
Can I have the same support worker each time?
Yes, wherever possible. Consistency matters, particularly when someone is coming into your home regularly. Homage matches you with a dedicated support worker and keeps that person consistent across your visits.
What cleaning tasks are covered under my NDIS plan?
Covered tasks include vacuuming, mopping, bathroom and kitchen cleaning, laundry, ironing, dusting, tidying, bed making, outdoor area cleaning, and bin management. Your support plan is tailored to what you need most. If you need something specific, tell us and we will do our best to include it.
How does Homage claim from my NDIS plan?
Homage claims directly from your NDIS funding after each session. For NDIA-managed and plan-managed participants, there is no invoicing or payment admin for you. For self-managed participants, we provide a compliant invoice to submit via the NDIS myplace portal.
Do I need a service agreement with Homage?
Yes. Before support begins, Homage provides a service agreement that outlines the services, schedule, pricing in line with the NDIS Price Guide, and your rights as a participant. This is a standard NDIS requirement and it protects both you and the provider.
What if cleaning is not currently in my NDIS plan?
Speak to your Support Coordinator or NDIS planner about including domestic assistance at your next plan review. Homage can provide supporting documentation for that request. Contact us and we will advise on what information strengthens the case.
Is Homage a registered NDIS provider?
Yes. Homage is fully registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. All Homage support workers meet NDIS Worker Screening requirements and our services comply with the NDIS Practice Standards. NDIA-managed participants can access Homage directly without going through a marketplace platform.
Can Homage provide personal care and nursing alongside cleaning?
Yes. This is one of Homage’s key advantages over marketplace platforms. We combine NDIS support work, nursing, and aged care under one registered provider. If you need personal care, community access, or nursing support alongside cleaning, we coordinate everything through a single care plan.
What is the difference between Homage and a marketplace platform?
Marketplace platforms connect you to independent workers but are not registered NDIS providers themselves. You negotiate rates directly, manage invoicing yourself, and have no clinical oversight of your care. Homage is a registered provider. Your support is clinically supervised, consistently staffed, and billed directly to your NDIS plan with no platform fees added on top.
