Welcome to the Perth Care Advisory Team – Meet Tash!

Natasha - known as “Tash”, and has been a great addition to the Homage Perth Team since the day she joined. Find out more about Tash - why she joined the team and how she’s getting to know those we provide care to in Perth!

by Team Homage

Why did you join Homage?

“Homage’s mission resonated with me because I moved to Perth due to a family member being sick. I wanted to do something in my career that made me feel like I was helping other people in a small way”.

Storytime – Could you please tell me more about your background & past work experience?

Tash used to live in Melbourne for a few years, first to complete her master’s degree, and later for work. Before Melbourne, she was in Malaysia, so her experiences are scattered across different places. She has worked in various fields such as banking, retail, food & beverage, procurement and now in healthcare. Tash says, “I grew up naively wanting to make the world a better place – I studied international relations and advocacy, but it’s easy to become cynical in that field. Instead, I took up jobs that were meaningful to me in different ways, and that dream continues with being part of Homage!”

What do you enjoy the most about being…

      • In the organisation (Homage)?

“I like that it’s small enough that I’ve been able to meet everyone in the AU offices! Everyone is also  fully committed, and it’s easy to feel inspired when talking to them.”

      • In the industry (Healthcare)?

“Working in partnerships as well as our care advisory team means I also get insight into what’s going on in the healthcare community. I like to think we’re trying to build a support system in the post-covid world. I think we’ve taken our health systems for granted, so when there was disruption on such a global scale, it made us well aware of just how much we need each other.”

      • In your role (Customer Engagement Associate)?

I enjoy problem-solving and being a friendly face/voice for people in need. Especially with the challenges the industry is facing right now with staffing shortages and the like, I want to make sure that people in their homes aren’t left alone wondering how they’ll get by on their own.”

How are you finding it so far?

“It’s a lot of organising, and it’s keeping me on my toes! I can’t say I’ve ever had a boring day.”

What are you excited about the most?

Tash mentions that she sees a lot of potential for growth, and she’s looking forward to being a part of it!

Any words you’d like to share with Perth’s Care Recipients and Care Owners?

I understand from experience the worry and stress that comes with trying to keep up with all the challenges that snowball on a daily basis, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when you’re doing it by yourself. Always helps to have someone backing you up!”
