Cancer is a leading cause of death in Australia. It is estimated that there were almost 150,000 new cancer diagnoses and 50,000 deaths in 2020. The top cancers in Australia include prostate, breast, colorectal, melanoma, and lung cancer.
Thankfully, advancements in treatment and screening have led to earlier detection and timely treatment for many, improving cancer survival rates from less than 50% in the 1980s to almost 70% today.

Top Questions About Cancer Care
What does palliative care mean for cancer patients?
Contrary to popular belief, palliative care does not mean death. While palliative care does encompass end-of-life or hospice care, people going through curative treatment can also receive palliative care to cope with various cancer symptoms and any side effects of treatment to minimise discomfort. It takes a holistic, person-centred approach, addressing not only the physical symptoms but also any related psychological, social and spiritual issues one might have.
Does Homage provide live-in cancer care service?
We currently provide 24-hour cancer care services but not live-in caregiving.
Two Homage Care Professionals will be scheduled for the visits, and care will be split into 12-hour shifts to support you and your loved one round-the-clock each day.
How fast will I receive cancer care support?
Once you have confirmed you will like to proceed with engaging Homage’s cancer care service, we can match you or your loved one with a suitable Care Professional as fast as within 24-48 hours.
What are Homage cancer care packages?
We have interim to longer-term home care packages with varying care durations so that you and your loved one can find a cancer care package that best fit your needs and preferences. Home care packages can also help save up to 25% for multiple care sessions. Reach out to our Care Advisors at 1300 705 029 for more details.
Who are the Homage Care Professionals?
Homage Care Professionals are Australians (and permanent residents) who are passionate and dedicated to delivering quality home care to families and care recipients. 100% local, they are trained support workers and licensed nurses from all walks of life.
What is the shortest duration for a cancer care visit?
The duration of a Homage cancer care visit starts from just one hour, depending on the family’s preferences and your loved one’s needs.
Can I use my Home Care Package (HCP) funding for Homage services?
You may use your Home Care Packages (HCP) to engage Homage services if you self-manage your HCP. You may connect Homage with your registered self-managed provider to facilitate service bookings using your HCP funds.

We support both private clients and those on the government waitlist but require care urgently. Please speak to our Care Advisor today at 1300 705 029 if you require care support.
I have 2 elderly at home. Can a Care Professional care for both?

If there are 2 elderly in the same home who needs care, a Care Professional would be present to care for each recipient respectively.
